Heaven or Hell: Two different Moody sermons leading you in very different eternal destinations!!!1/21/2016 Moody Bible Institute has GREATLY HELPED ME over the years!!! But I have noticed something happening in all of Christianity... Instead of people repenting/being Born Again and having Jesus come to live in them and then live HOLY lives because of the HOLY Spirit, we now have... Now we have just about every preacher telling people that they are saved, new creatures, and not to worry about their sin... because after all Jesus paid for it. If people don't know they must be HOLY and MUST BE BORN AGAIN to do this, they will go to Hell. Preachers, now, are boasting that they are not worthy... I have news for them... Actually, Jesus will have news for them on the Day of Judgement...I never knew you!!!!!!!! Over and over in the New Testament it says that those who are worthy will go to Heaven. Obviously Jesus is FAR WORTHIER than anyone... But that is what is constantly repeated... So if you're not worthy, you are headed to Hell, preachers included. The Bible is almost obsessive about the need for Holiness in order to see God. In Revelations it says many times, "those who overcome will inherit Heaven". You have to be completely blind in reading the New Testament to think that the cross did away with our duty to God. Yes, He paid our debt and did our duty... So what now? In order for Jesus Blood to cover someone, and in order for us to fulfill our duty to God we must see that as good or bad as we are, we aren't as good as God and we need Jesus. We must give our lives FULLY to Jesus in a moment of time, and make sure its REAL. Then we get the HOLY Spirit, and are able to ACTUALLY DO God's will and BE HOLY because we have the definer of Holiness living in us. And we will actually have power over sin and evil, not just told that we do. If we truly seek God with all our hearts and find Him... Then we will be Holy... Then we will be worthy... Then we will be an overcomer... Because we have died and Jesus is ACTUALLY LIVING IN US RUNNING OUR LIVES WITH POWER AND GLORY!!! Believing is commitment. It's like getting married to Jesus to obey Him forever, no going back... Its not loving Jesus, or believing He saved you, or even believing in Him. Believing in Jesus saves you when you fully believe with all your heart, and you give up all to Jesus, to have Him give all of Himself to you and in you. Radical Conversion is the ONLY Conversion. We don't need to gloss over the fact that people are unworthy, sinful, lacking in Holiness... This is supposed to push you to Jesus with all your heart to be saved. So telling people God's grace covers them, is sending them and you to Hell. No one with a clear conscience can read the New Testament over and over and then say that unholy, unworthy people who like to sin, and have not overcome the world will go to Heaven. Blind leaders have crept into the church and are leading other blind people to Hell. Leonard Ravenhill puts it the best, "God's greatest miracle is to take an unholy man out of an unholy world, make him Holy, then put him back in the unholy world, AND KEEP HIM HOLY". Here are two sermons from Moody Bible: One leads to Heaven: One eases your guilt, doesn't change you, and lands you in Hell: In God's Providence both sermons were delivered on the same campus on the same day from the same Ministry...
We better examine ourselves to see if we are in the Faith... And examine if God has power to Actually make us Holy and worthy, or only enough power to raise Jesus from the dead!!!!!!! LoveYou! JesusLovesYou!!! God Bless!

It seems to me that there is a tension between these two ideas in scriptures. I don't have time to listen to the sermons, but The bible does say all of us deserve death, and Paul talks about being a wretched man and doing things he doesn't want to do, and even hates, because of the sin still in him. It is possible that these sermons you dislike are just focusing on the one side. We aren't worthy, and we are never going to be. Only Jesus is worthy, and he makes us worthy by his own sacrifice. (I just read Hebrews 7:11 this morning--not exactly the same point, but similar--" if the prestigious of Levi, on which the law was based, could have achieved the perfection God intended, why did God need to establish a different priesthood..")
