Hope for the day after Easter.
Now that the hype is over. There's no more eggs to hunt, no presents and candy to devour. No family gatherings with food and fun. It is Monday. Back to work, back to the ole grind. A slight depression sets in after the highs of a holiday passed. But not so today! Today is a special day. Its not listed on ur calendars events. It doesnt have a special name. It is simply: TODAY. But in its simplicity lies great hope! Why? Because yesterday was Easter! What do I mean? I mean, Easter is the celebration of the culmination of God's plan of redemption for us. His Son, the Christ, got up from the grave, laid aside his death clothes and walked out of ths tomb. He overcame death! He conquered the Devil! He bodily rose from the dead. He took his life back up after laying it down for us as a perfect sacrifice. The just and holy righteous wrath and judgment of God for sin has been met to the full in the body of Jesus of Nazareth. For those who believe and confess that He is both Lord and Savior, the only pathway to peace with God, there is no more condemnation. So what does that have to do with today? Everything! Because yesterday means what it means, today is full of hope! Because of Christ's atoning work on the cross, we not only can celebrate Easter once a year, but day in and day out unto eternity. Not only did it pave peace to God's presence for this life, but it also secures our future hope in heaven!!! We have eternal hope because yesterday was written in the fabric of time! Today is born a new with fresh songs of glory. And not just this day, but every day from here to our last breath. This is the hope of the Gospel! This is the hope of the Christian. This is the promises of God that find all their yesses and amens in Jesus Christ, our Messiah. This is what we set our eyes and hearts on, things above where Christ sits at the right hand of Gods omnipotence because IT IS FINISHED and we r safe for eternity. Death not longer has a sting because Easter was yesterday morning! Today is the beginning of the rest of our lives! So wake up, O soul, and rejoice afresh in God your Savior. Sing a new of His endless mercy and grace. Fill your mouth with praise and make your spirit glad because yesterday secured your hope that can never fail! Thank you Jesus! Hallelujah! Amen! So Happy day after Easter my Friend! Be filled with Hope, joy of your salvation and the peace of God all day TODAY, and everyday.
