Where Is God?
In this world wide virus pandemic Fear and panic are epidemic The world is asking in all this: ‘Where is God in the midst of crisis?’ I guess we never stopped to ask before While we played and worked and went to the store We didn’t look or seek or ask where God was When we knew we could control every buzz It wasn’t until all of life came to a hault And there are no answers and no one is at fault. It wasn’t until we realized it was an incurable disease One that stole your breath and made you cough, gag and wheeze. Now cancer is one thing, STDs and AIDs are old hat But a virus that is unseen, resilient and deadly at that One that suffocates and takes the very breath from your lungs There is no hope for life once the end of breathing has begun Your future is gone, all your dreams are dead When the air you breathe doesn’t fill you with life but dread What is breath? What is the air that we breathe? Why do we require Oxygen to fill our lungs in reprieve? Usually, nobody thinks or takes a second thought To what sustains their very life that cannot be bought When life is good and no obstructions are around Air is not a commodity it is fresh, free and in great abound When something is paid no mind in its plenty It is taken for granted and ignored in basic efficiency. So is the air we have fully ignored? Or is it the God that gave it and even abundantly poured Each breath, every day into every soul’s mortal frame From the beginning until death devours, and its victims reclaim Where is God? Are you serious right now? He is in every moment, past, future and now. He is in every moving and living creature He has stamped his brand on every colorful feature. All of life comes from Him, all that is good Is from the Father of Lights who has graciously withstood Every slight, every denial, every drop of disdain Spewed at his face in total dishonor of His Name Every curse, every slander, each defiance Promoted by pride and self-reliance Is to defy the breath that we breathe will do as he intended We will live and die and be our own gods until life is suspended God is here. He has come to make a way for us To be restored to his loving embrace and welcoming chorus Jesus came as an offering, to give God a face He opened the floodgates of all God’s bounteous grace With his perfect life, death and resurrection He met every requirement of God’s demands of perfection He took onto himself all that was due our sinful shame He bore all our sin on himself and the wrath of God in his frame He is not far from any one of us, right here where we are He is not dead nor is he unaware of our pain or scars He is the Balm that heals, makes new and gives life He is the hope of every soul, the comfort in strife In the beginning God made man in His image With the rest of creation, Man received a privilege To relate with God in an intimate way And bear his resemblance that no one could say We fell out of the sky and boom we are here And we do what we want, year after year ‘Til we die and disappear with no consequences Are we so arrogant to think we are what we are with no outer influences? God breathed into that first man he made out of dust The Breath of Life, and he lived acknowledged God as he must Where is God in this world wide suffering and fear? He is calling to each of you, begging you to hear How much that He loves you and wants you to look up For from Him alone can we have strength not to give up What you need is not within you or around It is only in Jesus the Christ that its found God is everywhere and everything that you need Please, O please won’t you take heed Bow a knee to your Maker and lay down your will God will NOT reject you, but will overwhelm you to over fill Ask Jesus to save you, repent of all your sin Tell Him you want Him to lead you and then Open the door of your heart and let Him in to refresh Let Him remake you and give you a new heart of flesh Your struggles won’t end or even decrease But your soul will be safe for eternity And in every trial and stormy gale that comes against You will have a Savior and Friend with you to lean into and sense You are NEVER alone, ever! for one second of time But God Almighty will be your stronghold and come on a dime To rescue you, listen and answer all your requests In Jesus all His promises are AMEN and YES!
